Is a mattress foundation the same as a box spring?

I’m wondering if a mattress foundation is the same as a box spring or not?

No, they are different. A foundation is non-yielding, meaning it is rigid and doesn’t move. It is like a sturdy platform. A box spring actually has springs in it so it flexes with your mattress. Some mattress companies require a solid foundation, Simmons, and some require a box spring, Sealy. If you use the wrong kind with your mattress, your manufacturer’s warranty is void.
