Or the minimum resting heart rate can be a very reliable indicator of fitness.

Resting heart rate, or RHR is the number of heart beats per minute is measured when idle.

The best time to calculate your RHR is when you wake up first thing in the morning.

You can place your index and middle finger either in the carotid or radial artery and Count your pulse for 20. "Multiply by 3 and you are OK.

I will not recommend this approach. I prefer a heart rate monitor.

Relax and Count your pulse for about 60 ". Your RHR is the lowest number on the dial. For a more reliable measurement you can use the words average of three consecutive days.

The FCR depends on several parameters. Some of the most important to include:

– Age: A man of 20 years of age must have a RHR reduced by 3-4 beats / min a man of 50 years (for the same fitness level).

– Sex: Women are more RHRs by 3-5 beats / min compared with men of similar age and fitness level.

– Stress: If you are stressed, your RHR will increase to 10%.

– Physically: The lower your RHR is the most fit. Average, healthy men in their thirties have RHRs in the range of 70-75.

If your RHR is 85 + beats that will have to do something because overworks his heart.

Conversely, if your RHR is less than 60 beats / min, are in great shape!

– Overtraining: overtrained people can have their RHRs increased by 10% or more compared with standard measures.

You can lower your RHR systematic aerobic activities. This will make the heart pump more efficiently with a greater volume of accident stroke. In other words, be able to send more blood around the body with each beat.

Compare an athlete with an FCR of 50 strokes for a man unfit, same old with a RHR of 100 beats: The heart of the second man has to do double work for the same result!

FCR is used to determine the heart rate training zones. This is an issue that we will very soon.
